  • Place Name: First Place
Contestant Name: Wando High School - Legend
    Entry Title: Constant Color

Judge Comment: When a photographer has an opportunity to photograph an artist, the synergy of two creatives can produce awesome art as epitomized in this piece. A portrait was transformed into art itself by the painting of the subject. Going beyond the expected "subject at an easel" and having the vision to create art from the artist made this entry skyrocket to the top. Filling the frame with color, the eye has no place to travel but to lock eyes with the subject and appreciate the artistry of this image.
  • Place Name: Second Place
Contestant Name: Wando High School - Legend
    Entry Title: Stay or Go?
    Entry Credit: Sophia Dolloff
Judge Comment: Visually stunning photograph. Symmetry and leading lines draw the viewer into the photo. Beautiful rim light on the perfectly-placed subject wraps it neatly in a bow. The photo would not have been nearly as effective without the subject. The cleverly written title "Stay or Go?" adds yet another dimension of interest to an already appealing image.
  • Place Name: Third Place
Contestant Name: McCallum High School - The Shield Online
    Entry Title: Virtual virtuosos
    Entry Credit: Wren Vanderford
Judge Comment: Kudos to this photographer for taking an ordinary situation and making it shine through a strong use of composition. Instead of just photgraphing a musician on the stage, this photographer used the technique of layering to create interest by framing the subject with foreground elements including music stands that add context. The composition, light and studied expression of the subject combine to make this a strong photo.
  • Competition Comment: So encouraging to see the new talent and what levels they have attained so early in their artistic and journalistic endeavors. Many solid photos in this category that were covering a wide variety of subjects but three images rose quickly to the top. The winners all had a "wow" factor that gave them immediate impact.
