The SCSPA board met in August to discuss the budget and make changes in contest procedures for the upcoming year.
The board moved to begin charging $5 per entry to the fall and spring photo contests. This money will be used to fund the Journalist of the Year Award.
The way publications are evaluated will change slightly this year. The board moved to name category entries Superior, Honor and Merit. Each category will be assigned to a publication based on its rating. Another key change is that there will now be a $15 charge to enter a publication for evaluation in the most improved category.

For the online and broadcast category, judges will only give three awards. If there are two entries in a category and the judge does not feel one of them deserves recognition, only a silver award will be given.
